• Year 4 Fairtrade work and photos

  The year 4's have been doing the following for fairtrade:

   

  • Discussed what they thought fairtrade is.
  • Found out how the chocolate and cocoa industry has benefited from Fairtrade.
  • Completed a task on food miles and what countries the Uk import food from.
  • Maths challenge relating to fairtrade and round numbers to 10, 100 and 1000.
  • Found out what supermarkets sell fairtrade products and what type of product they sell.

  

• Year 6 Fairtrade work and photos

  Year 6 have been learning about Fairtrade this week. 

   

  They have completed the following tasks:

  • Investigating the price of fairtrade goods against non-fairtrade goods
  • Complete a food miles activity finding out how far certain foods travel and where they have travelled from.
  • Found out the total number of food miles in two recipes.
  • Research the ingredients of their favourite recipe and find out the food miles.

  Year 3 have completed some fairtrade activities this week:

   

  • They have learnt about the meaning of fairtrade.
  • How the cocoa industry has been affected by fairtrade.
  • How footballers are made and how fairtrade has helped improve working conditions.
  • How far food has travelled activity.  Looking at different countries and using our maths skills to find out distance's food has travelled in kilometres.

• Year 6 photos - World Book Day

  Year 6 are having a great World Book Day by having a library scavenger hunt, solving book emoji puzzles, writing book reviews, recommending books to others, taking part in the BBC live lesson and reading for pleasure.

   

  We will be reviewing our previous class text Letters From The Lighthouse by @Emmac2603 and delving deeper into our new book Sky Hawk by @gill_lewis too.
